FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
GENERAL
What are your hours?
Open Studio Hours are 12-9 pm Monday through Friday, and 12-6 pm Saturday and Sunday.
Do you have parking?
While we don't have a designated parking lot, Riverside Drive offers plenty of free street parking nearby!
How old do I have to be?
We welcome all ages! For our classes (not including Kids Camp), students under the age of 14 are required to have an adult supervisor take the class alongside them. Kids Camp is for ages 6-12.
What should I wear to the studio?
We recommend you wear clothes that you are comfortable in and are not afraid to get a little dirty. It's clay, after all! We also recommend flat shoes. If you have long hair, tying it back will help keep your hair out of the way. Those with longer fingernails may want to trim their nails for wheel throwing as well, as the nails can impact how pieces are formed.
Does clay stain clothing?
All of our clay will wash out in a normal laundry cycle.
CLASSES
What do I need for class series?
You will need a basic pottery tool kit. We sell them here at the studio for $20, which you can purchase on your first day of class. We also offer community tools that anyone can use.
For multi-week courses, do I have to commit to a day of the week?
Yes, your class will meet weekly on the day that you sign up for.
Do you allow make-ups if I miss a class?
Unfortunately, with the structure of our courses, we cannot offer make-up sessions. All classes come with open studio access, so you can still work on your pieces during non-instructional periods.
MEMBERSHIP
Are there any requirements to become a member?
All members must have clay experience. This can include taking a multi-week course at our studio.
How do I become a member?
Our membership form can be found here. Once you fill out the form, we will schedule an appointment with you in-studio to go over studio guidelines and payment setup.
Where do I get clay as a member?
All clay must be purchased in house. We carry b-mix, b-mix w/specks, electric brown, b-3, and speckled buff.
May I bring in my own glazes and underglazes as a member?
Yes! All glazes must be approved by a team member before they are used, so please reach out to us or talk to us in-studio with any further questions. We have no restrictions for underglazes.
Where do I keep my work as a member?
Each member is given their own shelf to store all projects on.
How does billing work as a member?
The studio will add you to their system and keep a card on file. Anytime that your membership is going to get renewed your card on file will get charged automatically.
